Open Studio Guidelines
OPEN STUDIO GUIDELINES
Work independently on your kiln formed glass projects at the Art Glass Studio. Previous fusing experience or the completion of First Time Fusers (FTF) or the equivalent are required. The fee for Open Studio is $20 per hour with a minimum of two hours. One firing fee is included in each session. Open studio sessions are staffed by Resident Artists and are designed to allow you to share space, ideas and energy with other glass artists.
Open Studio Hours are available when classes are not scheduled
Sunday : 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Saturday : 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Wednesday : 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
- Reservations are required in order to ensure that a Resident Artist will be present.
Register online 24 hours in advance of the session you want to attend at www.artglasscenteratglenecho.org/calendar/. Click ‘Open Studio.’
Reservation cancellations must be done within 24 hours of the scheduled session. Failure to do so will result in one warning, with a second occurrence resulting in ineligibility for future Open Studio sessions.
- Clean up: participants are expected to clean up their own work space. This includes sweeping and cleaning the table, equipment, floor, and chairs, and returning all equipment to the proper storage space. Open Studio participants should take all personal supplies and equipment with them when they leave the session.
- Safety:
- Protective eyewear must be worn when cutting and coldworking glass.
- Close toed shoes are required.
- Masks should be used when working with ground glass and fiber materials.
- Basic hand tools are available for participants to use, but you may use your own tools.
- Equipment such as grinders and tile saws are available. You must be trained in the use of these pieces of equipment. Ask the Resident Artist in charge for training if needed
- The large tile saw and sandblaster may be rented for $15 per quarter hour.
